Talk for Harmony

Working with Zinc Network we created a campaign on behalf of UNDP in Afghanistan.

To start a conversation, bringing GBV into the light to reduce the shame and stigma attached to talking about it. We partnered with activists, religious scholars and psychologists, offering meditation and counselling services to both victims and perpetrators. We didn’t just say “this is wrong” we took to broadcasting advice on how to handle stress and where to seek help.

Working as part of a creative team and closely with strategy, this project included concept development, copywriting, and scriptwriting.

The message is simple

If you could see yourself on the precipice of violence, you would feel ashamed and would choose a different course of action. Crucially, local GBV support services – confidential and available from within the home – are highlighted for victims or potential victims.

A new women-led initiative in Afghanistan is working to break down the barriers to help both victims and perpetrators

A new campaign, based in Kabul, is now aiming to lower this figure. The initiative, Talk for Harmony, has partnered with activists, religious scholars and psychologists in a mass media and social media campaign, offering meditation and counselling services to victims and perpetrators, and broadcasting advice on how to handle stress and where to seek help.

How do you deliver an intervention that starts to challenge centuries of violence?
